Education
We hold the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework at the heart of all that we do.
This is the document that sets out the standards that schools and childcare providers must meet for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5.
The EYFS framework:
- Sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well
- Ensures children are kept healthy and safe
- Ensures that children have the knowledge and skills they need to start school
The seven areas of learning as outlined in the EYFS are:
- Communication and Language
- Physical development
- Personal Social & Emotional
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the world
- Expressive Arts & Design
We use free flow play in our nursery, encouraging child led play and exploration to help develop the children’s confidence, by helping them to choose the activities that they want to engage in. We also closely observe the children’s interests and plan and offer adult led activities based on these during the course of the day, covering the 7 areas of learning.
